COMMUNITY WRITING GATHERINGS
This is an unlisted link, please don’t share it
This is a space to use writing as a medium to meet yourself in new ways and shake off creative stagnancy, all while growing your writing practice and deepening in creative approaches to thinking and living.
“Regarding Dew is a tender love letter to the world and every moment I choose to participate I am forever grateful for the space. Maggy’s offerings are a social and mental repose that feels like a sanctuary in contrast to the sharp edges often brushed up against in our world. I feel safe, welcome, heard, encouraged, and motivated to remove shackles and armor and instead embrace the spinning nature of being human and the playful possibilities of a life.” - MAIREAD
“You’ve cultivated an (in my experience) unmatched sense of safety here, a place that welcomes big emotions within clear and reasonable boundaries + humor when it feels right. I think that’s crucial for a class like this, where we’re exploring a lot of what holds us back. I’ve also really enjoyed the structure of the course, and collecting small takeaways (gems?!) that arrange into a larger mindset shift.”

“When I first attended one of Maggy’s Community Writing groups, I was a little nervous. That quickly disappeared. Maggy has cultivated a safe and welcoming space and has attracted people who are also safe and welcoming. And I’m not the only one who feels this way. The last event I attended people were continually commenting on how safe it feels to share there. It has been remarkably freeing to realize how easy it can be to sit down and write and then to share that with others. I’m watching my fears subside and starting to realize that my writing actually makes a difference for people and that perhaps my voice is worth putting out there. Thank you Maggy for creating such an amazing space and the opportunity to connect with others. ”

“Your care in cultivating a gentle and safe space to explore writing with no pressure or outcome is truly appreciated. I felt inspired and free to simply pour out words on a page and they shaped themselves into something beautiful that I could never have constructed. My deepest thanks to you and I look forward to experiencing you again.” - ADRIENNE
“Why do I do the discovery writing gatherings? I just feel better from the experience. I feel connection, fulfillment, exploration... frankly, I feel bliss. Sometimes I feel resistance to writing and showing up, but I know that even if I’m not feeling my best, it feels good to show up. Writing was a huge hurdle for me and I feel like I got over a wall!”
— Peggy
“So, I just finished the gift of the writing experience. It was truly a gift, and I felt like I connected to the wonderful ladies in both of the rooms I was in. It felt like we were meant to meet.”
— Kristen
INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION
1) Finally Face the Page
If you love writing but have found yourself stuck in resistance, confusion, and self-doubt, this workshop is for you. If you want to explore writing as a place of more creative power and less shrinking, more lighthearted fun and less self-criticism, more liberating self-expression and less self-doubt... you're in the right place. Over 2 hours of guidance and prompts presented in three parts…
Part 1: The Art of Noticing
Part 2: Meeting the Stuck Places
Part 3: Honoring the Deepest Self
Finally Face the Page is an opportunity to use writing as a medium for meeting yourself in new ways, gaining perspective, letting your creativity loose, and feeling the nourishment that a writing practice has to offer.
2) The Harvesting Guide
A digital guide that walks you through, step-by-step, how to have a harvesting practice: a methodical exploration of your experiences and insights through writing.
A harvesting practice guides you to get out of your own way.
A harvesting practice gives you the time to remember your wisdom, craft the declarations you most want to remember, and synchronize with the rhythm of your own being.
A harvesting practice is one powerful way to turn raw insight into tangible writing projects (and it’s great to do when you don’t feel like writing).
Through harvesting, you craft a repository of your own wisdom.
3) A PDF of creative writing and reflective writing prompts
Whenever you don’t know what to write, this is your guide.
Whenever you need to get your creative juices flowing, you can refer to this.
Whenever you want to spice up your creative process, pull a prompt like a wild card.
Whenever you want a perspective shift, yes you guessed it—open this up and see what happens.

What if I can’t make live calls?
At this time, we are only having the calls live. This might change in future iterations, but for now, it will not be recorded beyond our collective sharing of the present moment (and whatever notes you want to take!) just like life offline. There are a few reasons behind this, but one is that this space is meant to feel safe to be vulnerable, sincere, and to grapple with ideas within. This becomes less so when we know that we are being filmed and that there is a record that exists across many computers.
How many people participate?
It’s really variable at this point ranging from 3-12 each time.
What’s the group like?
Open, caring, real, funny, human, reserved, outgoing… All selectively invited by me.
Are there breakout rooms?
If there are, for any reason, they are optional.
Can I get feedback on my writing?
This is not a space for formal writing feedback—we connect informally and relate to each other as people showing up to a creative experiment, not in terms of expertise.
What if I’m not a writer?
Even if you don’t consider yourself a writer, you are inherently creative (sorry, it’s true!) and this is a space for us to deepen in that.
Being in community like this feels vulnerable and out of my comfort zone…
Same, which is why I initially created these spaces. My intention has been and continues to be oriented around crafting a gathering space for us to show up as ourselves, in process, in togetherness, in the messy middle of life without pretense. You never have to unmute (you are welcome to contribute using the chat). The two most common adjectives people use to describe Regarding Dew spaces are ‘connection’ and ‘safe’. (That said, what feels safe for one person might not for you. Please be sure to review the Conditions of Gathering.) My hope is that this is an opportunity to deepen in the truth of your belonging and the necessity of your creative expression.

Here’s how it works…
⦾ We will all be given the same word, sentence prompt, or topic and will write into it—ideally by hand—for a set amount of time, 6-12 minutes each round. The point isn’t what you write, it’s how you experience your own curiosity, willingness, and exploration. In fact, this is a fabulous time to do ‘bad’ writing.
⦾ When the timer ends, we will enter breakout rooms with one to two other people to read our writing aloud. Pure sharing followed by a thank you. You always have the option to pass on reading.
⦾ Back to the main group again! We begin the process over with a fresh prompt. Next time you enter a breakout room, it will be with a new tiny group and you once again have the choice to read or pass on sharing and hold presence as a creative witness.
⦾ If you’d like to stay on, our hour of generating discovery writing is followed by time to connect with each other in the spirit of intentional, joyful, and nourishing community.
All sales are final. Please see terms and conditions for more information before purchasing.
